by minimus insome people need to be surrounded with"friends" to make themselves feel good.others love their independence and prefer to be away from others.

A message from the UK re: 9/11
by Adam inhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=12188969&method=full&siteid=50143
this is precicely how i feel and i would only add a smattering of curse words to the text.
but then again, it was written by one of our bretheren across the pond and they're a little more understated than us yanks.

Nice to get a well balanced view of another man's religion TorturedSoul
Never forget the extent that some "Christian" groups have gone to, in order for their greater goal of domination to be reached. The Crusades for one?
Do you think that every Muslim alive today would send his son to die in a war against the US+friends - I think not. You are referring to an extreme group of individuals. Islam is a HUGE faith and therefore has millions of observers, be careful with the words chosen as they can be very offensive to a select crowd of peace lovers.

1. A sense of magic - everything slowly faded to grey
2. Cannabis - some would say a good thing
3. Birthdays - not a huge sacrifice
4. Sanity - became very depressed after two years of service
5. Interesting friends who had their own ideas and were allowed to be different
6. A sense of security - suddenly the world became demon infested and dark
.... decent dress sense

11/1/02 WT: Why Should I Apologize?"
by Room 215 inaa usual, the boys in bethel prove their aptitude in the ``do as i say but not as i do'' department.
they eloquently laud the virtues of open-mindedness, humility and freedom of speech, as long as it applies to others.
this issue's covering article is but another in a long series of example.

I used to read the Plain Truth two years before I studied with JWs. I always found the magazine far more reasonable and straight forward.
When I started my studies with a respected (hardcore) JW elder, he pointed out that the books I had ordered through the Plain Truth were Satan's words. He was only happy when I had consented to throw them away. I distinctly remember the look on his face when I asked him an honest question based upon the explanations of Bible based prophecy that the Plain truth taught at that time. He was really unwilling to discuss the teaching and simply drew my attention to WTBTS publications. I wish now, with hindsight, that I had been firmer and demanded a well rounded debate.
Tsk .... inexperience and wanting to believe "something" led me down many a twisted pathway!

Great clouds of incense !
by Dizzy Cat indoes anybody here smoulder incense?
i recently got a charcoal burner and various resins to try.
favourite at present being frankincense.. my house is absolutely fogged out today, the cats are staring at me with a curious glaze across their faces.. the resin based incense is far more potent than the standard sticks i used to burn and has a really pleasant smell.

If you are not sure where to get resin - try here - http://www.britstonia.co.uk (by the way Simon, I am not affiliated with this company at all).
t-tar for a bit !

`Jehovah'.A pagan/political connection
by badboy inthe name `jehovah' appears on a liverpool creamware jug with a transfer-print of spencer percival assassination on 1 side and john wesley on the other side.
(methodist recorder, issue 7562,page 8.. i also understand that the tetragramm was assoiceted with baal.
in view of the assoication with the death of a man and a pagan god,is jehovah an appropriate name 2 use.
